Like many other people in the world, I am a YouTube fiend.
I love watching beauty tutorials and crafting videos. I started out watching Jaclyn Hill aka The Queen lol and haven’t looked back. From there I started watching Tati from GlamLifeGuru, ShadesofKassie, Zabrena, and so on. For me YouTube is Pinterest with videos 🙂 Let me explain: all Pinterest users can relate to the amount of time you could spend pinning things and not realize exactly how much time you have spent doing so. Well I think YouTube videos do the same thing to me. I jump from one video to the next and before I know it 3 hours have gone by. What?!?!?!
Anyway, the reason I’m writing this post is because of a “tag” video that Tati GlamLifeGuru did. She started the 10 products under $10 challenge. For me it was awesome to see her video and others to find out what cheaper products they love. Watching these beauty gurus has opened up a world of brands I wouldn’t have known about otherwise and most of them are super affordable it’s ridiculous!
So here are my top picks for 10 beauty products under $10:
Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation-gives amazing coverage but doesn’t look too heavy. It smells like paint but I can get over that for a $5 price tag.
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer-This stuff is lightweight and creamy so it works for people of all ages. I don’t enjoy concealers that make my under eye area feel dry. I also love using this as a eye shadow base; I set it with a powder and I don’t have an issue with my eyeshadows creasing. It also covers up any redness or blue veins if I’m not wearing eye shadow.
NYC Loose Translucent Setting Powder -This stuff is amazing, I’ve tried many different setting powders and this one doesn’t look cakey or heavy; it also works well with my combo/oily skin.
Essence Lash Princess False Lash Mascara– I love that this is good and budget friendly. It is around $5 and worth every penny. It has a tapered wand, which is my favorite because you can get the corner lashes without poking yourself in the eye and getting mascara all over the place. You can pick this up at Ulta or Target.
Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer– If you watch YouTube videos at all you will already know how hyped up this product is. But that hype is for good reason: this bronzer is fantastic! I love this because it looks natural on the skin, I don’t like the heavy contoured look or super orange bronzed face. I like that sun kissed glow and without bronzer, I’m so pale I look dead. So this really brings the life back to your face. Right now there are only 2 shades but they are bringing out 2 more darker shades in the coming months. Oh and bonus, this makes a great crease color for your eyes on days you don’t want to do a full eyeshadow look. It’s not under $10 but if you use coupons from the mail or Ulta it can be.
NYC Blush in West Side Wine-This blush is under $3 and gives an amazing mauve pink flush to the cheeks. It takes a bit to build up the color but I like that since I tend to be heavy handed. This way you never come out looking like you should work in the circus.
ColourPop LippieStix in Lumiere (or any ColourPop LippieStix color you love)- These lippie stix are so creamy and pigmented but not drying. I love that there are so many colors to choose from and they are incredibly affordable.
ColourPop LippieStix Pencil in Lumiere (or any ColourPop LippieStix Pencil color you love)- They have so many colors to choose from you are sure to find one you like. I love that all their lippie stix have a coordinating lip pencil. I hate having to match lip liners and they never look right. They have taken the guess work out of the equation.
Loreal Brow Stylist Definer-I absolutely love this eyebrow pencil. It gives enough color but not so much that you look like you painted on your brows. They have a bunch of different shades now and it is half the price of the Anastacia Brow Wiz (which I personally don’t like).
Wet N Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana-So this is labeled as bronzer but I don’t know anyone fair enough for this to be a bronzer. It gives that perfect glow without making you look like a disco ball or a unicorn danced on your face. I definitely prefer the subtle, subdued highlighters. This is also a dupe for the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder in Dim Light, just $35-40 cheaper 🙂
Any Makeup Geek eyeshadows—all regular shadows (mattes and shimmers) are $6 and they are the most pigmented shadows I have ever used at that price point. I also love that they only come in the metal pan so that you can make a custom palette with any magnetic palette of your choosing.
I would love to know if any of these products are your favorite or if you have other under $10 beauty products I should check out, leave me a comment below!
I would love to hear your thoughts!
